During these days you could hear almost everyone and everywhere having a discussion on politics, on the coming elections of Nov 4, 2008 and especially on the two candidates. I tend to consider myself out of the subject since i am an international student and i do not get to vote. However, i do insist on the message the video gives to the general public: VOTING IS A RESPONSIBILITY. Looking at the issue from my point of view, it does not matter who a citizen votes for, what matters is to make yourself count weather you abstain (just refuse to choose any) or have a preference among the candidates. It is worth putting yourself in the game because YOU are part of the society and generally speaking winning or loosing is irrelevant to the individual at this point. (if they intend not to vote).
As a matter of fact, i realized that the video is a form of sensibilization for the new voters who have the tendency to ignore the elections as a lack of either information or interest. The call of celebrities to register is the best way that the information could get to the new voters. It was organized in three parts: first using reverse psychology by saying "do not vote" to grab the attention, then bringing up problematic issues such as drugs, abortion or wealthcare, and concluding with presenting ways how to register. Hopefully the video had same affect that it had on me and at the right time :-)
