The cultural unit of observation that I am observing is the NYSE.

My project question is How does the NYSE or the stock market in general affect a Baruch student who loves to trade.

My key cultural consultant, John, is going to provide information on the stock market, trading, and current news, that all tie in with the market. John will focus on his own experiences when it comes to the stock market, and provide advice on what to do and not to do while trading as a student.

My participant observation is attending John's house and watching him place trades, look through the market and teach me exactly what is going on.

My goal for this project is to be able to follow some aspects of the market and be able to place successful trades, or option trades at the end of my project.

I will be observing the handball players of Sara D Roosevelt Park on Grand St near the Manhatten Bridge. I want to learn the lifestyle of those who often spend their days at that park. My key cultural consultant lives about four blocks away from the park, and spends most of his afternoons playing handball at the park. I plan to visit the park twice a week and take part in handball games to experience the sport as well as the lifestyle players are acustomed to.

I have decided to modify and narrow my unit of observation to my colleagues who recently completed their service in the Israeli army.

The interview process is very enriching as a young adult who fits the current criteria for an Israeli soldier. If I were to currently reside in Israel, I wouldn't have the privilege of attending a University. Instead, I would be enlisted in the Israeli army. It gives me a stronger appreciation for being able to fulfill my immediate aspirations. My colleagues provide me with detailed events that occur throughout their daily routines.

I intend on acquiring a totally new outlook as to how Israeli soldiers who are essentially my age approach their duties and requirements.
